Picnic weather; time for pizza

Four seasons in one week

Last Wednesday I was talking to one of my cookery club classes about the snow (hail and sleet) that had fallen the day before. Everyone had seen it, and were equally as excited as they were confused by it.  Today we had the windows open because it was roasting in my kitchen!  The seasons are mad.  So now that we have had 2 nice days of weather in a row, I have packed up the winter clothes, dragged the shorts out from the back of the wardrobe and have declared SUMMER!!!!! And with Summer comes picnics; everyday, everywhere we go. We are never too far from a picnic, be they indoors or outdoors.  For a few more picnic food ideas, check out my very first blog post.

Ham and peach pizza for anyone

During the course of this week, I have enjoyed making pizzas with almost 30 children, varying in age from 2 to 8, and they all have very specific ideas on what makes the perfect pizza!

So here just for you are a few of their favourite toppings:

  • ham and peach;
  • margherita (cheese and tomato);
  • tuna;
  • meat!!!!!!!!;
  • PEPPERONI (shouted in a very loud voice);
  • mushroom
  • broccoli

How would you answer this?  What would be your picnic or pizza night pizza?  For me a pizza isn’t pizza without Port Salut cheese and Reggae Reggae sauce!

This week we are linking up with Monkey and Mouse and their How to Sundays linky

    It certainly has been funny weather, our family had planned an outdoor picnic for visiting family a wk or two ago but the day before they arrived it snowed and was obviously still too chilly the following day. We went to plan b and enjoyed it indoors instead!
    We love homemade pizza in our household and often dress it with feta cheese and a little vegetarian pesto.

    The seasons were so crazy last week weren’t they! We had snow lying on the ground and a couple of days later it was so sunny and warm. Thanks for the recipe, we love pizza! Our normal topping is Sweetcorn and peppers, although I also love pineapple on mine. Thanks so much for linking up to #HowtoSunday 🙂 x
