Savoury scones

I forgot to eat lunch

I think this is one of the drawbacks of working from home.

I am a very social eater, so once all my little crafty cooks have gone home, and I’ve tidied away all the mess, I put the dishwasher on and then the kettle for a cup of tea (I never forget to have a brew).

Once the tea is drunk, I check my email and social feeds and then am back into work mode!

Now that my daughter is in school for lunch, I don’t even have that reminder.  I never forget to feed the kids, but most Mums will agree that eating your own food is at the bottom of a long list of things that need to be done.

So I have come up with a solution.  Every week I test bake the following week’s recipe.  I have decided to double the batches of savoury bakes that I test, and then freeze them.

Frozen lunches

Grabbing a couple of savoury scones from the freezer in the morning when I am getting packed lunches ready is so much easier than making a sandwich, and by lunchtime they are defrosted and beautifully fresh!

Sliced with a piece of ham or cheese…delicious

Is it just me or do you all forget to eat at lunchtime?  What are your grab snack favourites?
